Kalya is a member of The Bettys, a burlesque revival that riffs on torch singers of the 1930's-60's and the golden age of swing and big band. Jazz vocalists Lisette St. Louis, Patty Pedersen, and Kalya incorporate their 3-part harmonies with swing feel, jazz and an edge of punk. This Toronto-based vocal trio, backed up by a hard-swingin’ jazz quartet, brings three part harmony into the modern age with a repertoire that includes everything from “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” to “Eye of the Tiger.”
